Congolese rumba, ndombolo, soukous, R&B
Fally Ipupa Nsimba (born December 14, 1977) is a Congolese singer, songwriter, dancer and one of the leading figures in modern African music. Often known as the “Prince of Rumba,” he is recognized for his smooth tenor vocals and his blend of Congolese rumba, soukous, ndombolo and contemporary sounds.
Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ipupa began his music career in the late 1990s before joining Koffi Olomide’s Quartier Latin International in 1999. He launched his solo career in 2006 with his debut album Droit Chemin, which became a major commercial success.
He later released successful albums including Arsenal de Belles Mélodies, Power “Kosa Leka”, Tokooos, Control, Tokooos II and Formule 7. His music has earned him major awards and international recognition across Africa and Europe.
Beyond music, Fally Ipupa is also known for his humanitarian work through the Fally Ipupa Foundation, which supports vulnerable communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
