Mike Kayihura is a Rwandan storyteller, R&B singer, and songwriter from Kigali, Rwanda. His passion for music began at the age of 13 when he joined the choir at Christ’s Church in Gacuriro. He started his musical journey as a keyboardist and singer, performing covers of classic songs before developing his own sound.
Kayihura launched his recording career with “Let Your Worries Go” in 2014, produced by Barick, and later collaborated with artists including Angell Mutoni, Eric One Key, Kanaka, Eloi El, Mucyo, and the UK-based Kingdom Choir. He gained wider recognition with his hit song “Sabrina,” produced by Danny Beats, which became one of his standout releases. Known for blending Kinyarwanda and English, Kayihura continues to develop his distinctive Kinyatrap-inspired R&B and soul sound, with songs such as “Anytime” showcasing his evolving musical style.
