Afrobeats star Ayra Starr spoke proudly about her new album ‘Starrgirl’ while attending the Coach show during New York Fashion Week.

Ayra Starr brought her music and fashion worlds together as she attended the Coach show during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, September 9.

Sitting in the front row, the Nigerian singer spoke about her third studio album, Starrgirl, which was released on August 14, 2026.

“I am inspiring myself, my album inspires me,” Ayra Starr said while discussing the project. She added that the album’s reception has been amazing and said she is proud of herself.

The singer also explained why Starrgirl has different sounds. She said she wanted the album to show the different sides of her instead of putting herself into only one music style.

Starrgirl is a mixture of different genres because I exist in multitudes, and I am proud of it,” she said.

The album features collaborations with artists including Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN and Leon Thomas, giving the project a wide mix of Afrobeats, R&B and pop sounds.

Ayra Starr’s appearance at Coach also showed her growing connection between music and global fashion. Her presence at the New York event added another major moment to the Starrgirl era.
