Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey made Premier League history on Sunday after scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Brobbey scored three times as Sunderland lost 5-3 to Manchester City in a thrilling Premier League match.
The Dutch forward scored in the 12th, 33rd and 59th minutes, keeping Sunderland in the game each time City moved ahead.
Despite Sunderland’s defeat, Brobbey became only the second player to score an away Premier League hat-trick against Manchester City at the Etihad, after Jamie Vardy did it in 2020.
He also became the first player since 2007 to score a Premier League hat-trick in a match his team lost.
Manchester City sealed the win through goals from Enzo Fernández, Rayan Cherki, Antoine Semenyo, who scored twice, and Erling Haaland.
