Nigerian music star Burna Boy brought Afrofusion to the global sports stage on October 25, 2026, performing during halftime of the NFL’s first regular-season game in France. The Grammy-winning artist took the stage at Stade de France in Paris as the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the New Orleans Saints.
Burna Boy opened his halftime set with “4 Kampe II,” his collaboration with French-Haitian singer Joe Dwet Filé. The track blends Afrobeats with Caribbean influences, connecting the Nigerian star’s sound with music that has also found an audience in France and beyond.
The performance marked another major moment for Burna Boy at Stade de France. In April 2025, he became the first African artist to headline a solo concert at the stadium. His return for the NFL Paris Game brought his music to an audience watching one of American football’s biggest international events.
The game between the Steelers and Saints was the NFL’s first regular-season fixture in France. It formed part of the league’s largest international season to date, with games scheduled across seven countries and four continents. Burna Boy’s performance was one of seven halftime shows planned for the NFL’s 2026 International Games.
For Burna Boy, the Paris appearance added another international platform to a career that has helped take Nigerian music to stadiums and audiences around the world. His return to Stade de France also highlighted the growing presence of African artists at major global sporting and entertainment events.
