Davido announced the three-night show on social media, telling fans that he is bringing the celebration back home. The residency will be held at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, where the singer will perform across three consecutive nights.
The event is closely connected to Oriadé, Davido’s latest album, which was released in July. It will also celebrate his 15-year journey in music, bringing together his new songs and music from his earlier career.
The three-night format gives Davido more time to build a full live experience around the album and his career. The show is also expected to feature special guests, although the full line-up has not yet been announced.
For Davido, the Lagos return carries a personal meaning. He grew up in the city and began building his music career there before taking his music to audiences around the world.
The residency will also come during Nigeria’s busy December entertainment season, when Lagos welcomes large numbers of music fans and visitors. Davido has said the idea was partly inspired by Bad Bunny’s residency in Puerto Rico and the way major shows can connect music with tourism and local culture.
