Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to another federal prison in Pennsylvania, according to a report published by TMZ on October 16.
The music mogul is now being held at the Federal Correctional Institution in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, which, like Fort Dix, is a low-security prison. TMZ reported that the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer took place on Friday morning.
The move comes less than a week after Combs was reportedly taken by ambulance from Fort Dix for medical treatment following a head injury on October 10. He returned to the prison later that morning. The circumstances surrounding the injury have not been fully established, and the Bureau of Prisons has not publicly explained the reason for his transfer.
Combs’ time at Fort Dix has also attracted attention because of reports about disciplinary violations. According to TMZ, he received multiple write-ups related to phone use and alleged fights with other inmates. The reports said he was placed in the prison’s Special Housing Unit on two occasions.
NBC News has separately reported allegations that Combs had access to prohibited items and received special treatment from other inmates, including massages and specially prepared meals. These claims have drawn scrutiny during his incarceration.
However, the Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed that the reported violations or his recent medical incident caused the transfer. Any suggestion that the move was intended to improve his security remains speculation.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. His legal team has continued to pursue an appeal.
The transfer marks a new development in Combs’ prison stay, but the official reason for moving him to Allenwood has not been disclosed.
