Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka is teasing a new song titled “COMMANDO,” featuring Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage, in a collaboration that brings together two artists from different sides of Africa’s music scene.
The teaser, shared through Baraka’s social media channels, has introduced the upcoming track as “COMMANDO — B’raka X Tiwa.” The announcement points to a Uganda–Nigeria link-up, although a release date and further details about the song have not yet been confirmed in the information available.
Baraka has also shared the personal meaning behind the record. In a message about the song, he explained that he first wrote it as a freestyle during a difficult period in his life.
“COMMANDO is more than a song, it is an energy, it's a mindset. Life is tough but remember that you're always tougher,” he said.
The message suggests that the track carries a theme of strength and perseverance, turning a personal experience into music that listeners may relate to.
A collaboration with Tiwa Savage would also connect Baraka’s growing profile in East African music with one of Nigeria’s established Afrobeats stars. Savage is known for songs including “Somebody’s Son” and “Koroba,” while Baraka has gained wider attention with tracks such as “NANA,” “Wrong Places” and “Morocco.”
The teaser arrives as Baraka prepares for B’RAKA LAND East Africa, his headline show scheduled for November 28, 2026, at Lugogo Hockey Grounds in Kampala. The event is part of his growing connection with fans across Uganda.
For now, listeners are waiting for more details about “COMMANDO,” including its official release date and whether a music video will accompany it. The collaboration is shaping up as another cross-border moment for African music, with fans awaiting the full song.
