Kim Kardashian has revealed that she has five nannies helping care for her four children with ex-husband Kanye West, with the caregivers working on a rotating schedule.
The SKIMS founder, 45, shared the details during a recent interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine. Her children are North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Kardashian explained that the five nannies do not care for the children at the same time. Instead, one nanny is on duty while the others rotate, giving the family a regular childcare support system.
Despite having that level of help, Kardashian said she remains involved in many of her children's daily routines. She said she takes them to school and picks them up herself, reads books with them at night and has dinner with the family every evening.
She also described herself as an “intermediate-strict” parent, saying she is patient and loving with her children. Kardashian added that she still allows one of her children to sleep in her bed when they want and that reading with them is part of their nightly routine.
The reality star also spoke about the challenge of raising children while their lives are exposed to the public. She said she tries to be careful about how much of their lives becomes part of her family's public profile.
North, her oldest child, has shown a strong interest in music and other public projects. Kardashian said she and Kanye West communicate better when it comes to North's music career and make sure they both approve the projects she takes part in.
For Kardashian, having a large childcare team is part of balancing motherhood with her business, entertainment work and other commitments. Her comments also show that she wants to remain closely involved in her children's everyday lives while managing the demands that come with raising a family in the public eye.
