Kylian Mbappé has left Nike after nearly 20 years and signed with Swiss sportswear brand On Running as the company enters the football market.
On announced the partnership on September 18, 2026, confirming that the Real Madrid and France star will work with its product teams as it develops its first football products. Mbappé will also become a global ambassador for On.
The move ends Mbappé’s long relationship with Nike, which began in 2006 when he was a child. On plans to launch its first football boots in 2027, with Mbappé involved in product development and testing.
On has also appointed French football legend Thierry Henry as its Director of Football. Henry will help guide the company’s football plans, including product development and its relationships with athletes.
The Swiss brand plans to bring its technology into football, including its LightSpray technology, which uses a robotic process to create lightweight footwear. The technology is expected to be adapted for football products.
For Mbappé, the deal marks a new chapter after nearly two decades with Nike. For On, his arrival comes as the company begins its first major move into the global football market.
