Legendary singer Lionel Richie is reportedly remaining under medical care in a St. Louis ICU as doctors conduct cardiac tests following an onstage health scare.
The 77-year-old music icon sought medical attention after his August 29, 2026 performance at The Muny in St. Louis. Initial reports suggested exhaustion or dehydration, but later reports indicated that doctors were conducting additional testing focused on his heart.
According to reports from TMZ and PEOPLE, Richie is resting comfortably and is in good spirits. He is reportedly expected to be medically cleared to return home, although his representatives have not publicly announced a detailed medical diagnosis.
The health concerns came after Richie appeared to struggle toward the end of his concert. While preparing to perform “All Night Long (All Night)”, the singer reportedly asked for a chair and finished the performance while seated, telling the audience that he was experiencing dizziness.
The incident comes after another health scare earlier this summer. On June 24, Richie reportedly stopped his performance in St. Paul, Minnesota, after telling fans he felt dizzy and unwell. The show was ultimately canceled, with subsequent performances in Chicago and Columbus also postponed.
Richie later returned to the stage and continued his Sing a Song All Night Long tour alongside Earth, Wind & Fire.
For now, fans are awaiting an official update from Richie’s representatives regarding his condition and whether the upcoming tour schedule will be affected. His next scheduled performance is currently set for September 26 in San Francisco.
