Mayorkun has released the official music video for “Kaluba,” opening a new chapter as the Nigerian Afrobeats star celebrates 10 years in music.
Mayorkun’s “Kaluba” video is now available on YouTube, giving fans a fresh visual for the song as he marks a decade since his breakthrough in 2016.
“Kaluba,” a Nigerian slang word connected to money, carries a celebratory feel while reflecting on Mayorkun’s growth and experiences throughout his career. The song was released in August through Sony Music Entertainment West Africa.
The video also comes with a noticeable change in Mayorkun’s appearance. The singer has cut his trademark dreadlocks and introduced a fresh hairstyle, a move that represents the new creative direction surrounding this stage of his career.
Mayorkun first gained major attention in 2016 after Davido discovered him through a social media music clip. His breakout single “Eleko” helped launch his career, and he later became one of the recognizable names in Nigerian Afrobeats.
The release of “Kaluba” also follows Mayorkun’s appearance with FOLA on Davido’s “B4 B4,” keeping him connected to one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars as he begins another chapter of his career.
