Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan has reportedly secured a United States visa and travelled to Florida, marking a major development after years of being unable to visit the country. The news could create new opportunities for the artist to connect with American fans through future performances and appearances.

Popcaan, whose real name is Andrae Hugh Sutherland, has built an international audience through his music and collaborations. However, his inability to travel to the United States has remained a challenge throughout much of his career.

In January 2023, the “Unruly Boss” publicly questioned why he could travel to other countries but not America. He also called on fans to support a campaign to help him visit the country for the first time.

Reports published on October 11, 2026, said the visa had been secured. His sister, Annalecia “Unruly Squid” Sutherland, who is also part of his team, welcomed the development in comments reported by DancehallMag. She said the family was excited about the opportunity for American fans to experience his performances in person.

Popcaan’s reported arrival comes as other Jamaican dancehall stars have also regained access to the U.S. in recent years. Artists including Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Buju Banton and Sizzla Kalonji have made headlines over their return to American stages, highlighting the importance of the U.S. market to Jamaican music.

For Popcaan, the visa could open the way for live shows and other professional opportunities in a country where his music already has listeners. However, visa approval does not itself confirm that concerts or a tour will take place.

As of the latest reports reviewed, no official U.S. performance dates had been announced. Fans will be watching for further updates from Popcaan and his team about his plans for the American market.
