Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” has been selected among 64 songs competing for a place in the “20 Greatest R&B Songs of the 2020s” fan ranking at the 2026 Soul Train Awards.
BET announced the 64-song voting pool as part of the new fan-driven format for this year’s Soul Train Awards. Fans can vote once every 24 hours, with the 20 songs receiving the most votes set to make the final ranking.
“Calm Down,” Rema’s global collaboration with Selena Gomez, is among the African songs included in the voting pool. Other African-linked tracks on the list include Wizkid and Tems’ “Essence,” CKay’s “Love Nwantiti,” Tyla’s “Water,” and Tems’ “Free Mind.”
The final 20 songs will be ranked by the number of fan votes they receive. The countdown to No. 1 will be revealed during the “Back on Track” Soul Train Awards Red Carpet Show ahead of the main ceremony.
Fans can vote through October 16, with voting available once every 24 hours.
The 2026 Soul Train Awards will take place on Friday, November 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The ceremony will air on BET and be simulcast on CBS, BET Her, VH1, MTV2 and LOGO.
For Rema and Selena Gomez, the inclusion of “Calm Down” gives the 2022 collaboration another major moment in a global music awards setting, while also putting an African crossover record in contention for one of the fan-voted lists at this year’s Soul Train Awards.
