American rapper, actor and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg celebrates his 55th birthday on October 20, 2026. Known for his smooth voice and lasting influence on hip-hop, he has built a career that reaches beyond music into film, television and business.
Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California, Snoop Dogg rose to fame in the early 1990s after working with Dr. Dre. His debut album, Doggystyle, released in 1993, helped establish him as one of the biggest names in hip-hop. Songs such as “Gin and Juice,” “Who Am I? (What's My Name?)” and “Drop It Like It's Hot” remain among his best-known hits.
His success has also earned him recognition in Hollywood. On November 19, 2018, Snoop Dogg received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Recording category. The honor celebrated his impact on music and his long career in entertainment. Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones and Jimmy Kimmel were among those who joined the celebration.
Snoop has continued to explore new opportunities while staying connected to music. He acquired Death Row Records in 2022, bringing the historic hip-hop label under his ownership. In April 2026, he released 10 Til’ Midnight, adding another project to his long music career. His single “H.O.U.S.E” was released on October 16, just days before his birthday.
Snoop is also preparing for a major moment on the big screen. A biographical film titled Snoop is scheduled for release on August 6, 2027. Actor Jonathan Daviss is set to portray the rapper, while Craig Brewer will direct the film. The project will tell the story of one of hip-hop's most familiar figures.
Outside music, Snoop continues to work in entertainment for different audiences. He voiced the character Dave in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, released in 2026, and remains connected to Doggyland, a children's entertainment series.
At 55, Snoop Dogg continues to build on a career that has lasted more than three decades. From his early rise in hip-hop to his Hollywood recognition and work in business, television and film, his journey remains an important part of his story.
