Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $2.5 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming only the third film in history to reach the milestone.
The Tom Holland-led movie has joined Avatar and Avengers: Endgame in the small group of films that have passed $2.5 billion worldwide. Current box-office trackers put the film's total at around $2.5 billion, although the exact figure differs slightly between tracking services.
The achievement comes after a strong theatrical run for the latest Spider-Man movie. It has earned more than $950 million in North America and about $1.55 billion from international markets, according to current box-office figures.
The film has also made history in the North American market. Brand New Day has passed Star Wars: The Force Awakens to become the highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office when comparing unadjusted ticket sales.
The success makes Brand New Day the first movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 to cross the $2.5 billion mark. Avatar remains another member of the group of films that have reached the milestone.
The movie stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, with Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal also among the cast. It was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and released in theaters in July 2026.
Despite its huge theatrical success, the film's cinema run is now moving toward its home-release stage. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to become available for digital purchase and rental on October 6, 2026, while it is still playing in some international theaters.
With more than $2.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become one of the biggest box-office successes in movie history and another major milestone for the Spider-Man franchise.
