Take-Two Interactive, the company that owns Rockstar Games, is taking a new step in its search for the people behind the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks.
On September 1, 2026, a U.S. court allowed Take-Two to keep its latest request for information from Discord secret. The company says it does not want the people being investigated to know what it is looking for.
Take-Two fears that the suspects could delete files or other evidence if they learn about the investigation.
The company had earlier asked several platforms, including Discord, Microsoft, X and Google, for information about the leaks. It now appears to be focusing on specific accounts instead of looking at large numbers of users.
Take-Two has also dropped a separate request involving YouTube accounts linked to the leaks.
No suspect has been publicly identified or arrested. For now, Take-Two is continuing its investigation behind closed doors as it tries to find who shared the unreleased GTA 6 footage online.
