Tyla has released a new music video for “THAT GIRL,” bringing live-action dance performances to the song after her earlier animated visual sparked debate among fans.
The South African singer premiered the new video on October 16, 2026, during her APOP World Tour* show in London. Directed by Aerin Moreno, the visual moves away from the animated style of the earlier version and puts Tyla and her dancers at the centre of the action.
Set in Los Angeles, the video features energetic choreography and a relaxed, colourful setting that matches the song’s playful pop style. The dancers take over an open lot, turning the location into a lively performance space. Choreography by Litchi HOV helps drive the visual, with dance remaining a major part of Tyla’s artistic identity.
The release follows online discussion surrounding the earlier animated video, which drew criticism from some viewers who questioned whether artificial intelligence had been used in its production. Those claims were not conclusively established in public reporting. The new live-action video offers fans a different visual interpretation of the track.
“THAT GIRL” appears on Tyla’s second album, APOP*, released in 2026. The new visual adds to the album’s promotional run as the singer continues her world tour, giving the track another moment in the spotlight.
Fans can now watch the official “THAT GIRL” music video on Tyla’s YouTube channel.
