Viktor Gyökeres has written his name into UEFA Nations League history after scoring for Sweden in their 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, October 2.

The Arsenal striker found the net in the 61st minute after fighting through a challenge and finishing strongly. His goal was more than just a moment for Sweden. It made Gyökeres the first player in Nations League history to score in six consecutive matches.

His scoring run started in the previous Nations League campaign. He scored against Estonia and Slovakia before producing a four-goal performance against Azerbaijan. He then continued his run against Romania and Poland before finding the net again in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sweden could not turn Gyökeres' goal into a win, however. Bosnia and Herzegovina came back to score late in the match, leaving both teams with one point.

For Gyökeres, the result was still a special night. The record shows how important he has become for Sweden, where he continues to be one of the team's main attacking players.

His international form also comes at an interesting time for Arsenal. Gyökeres is looking to build his place in the team after joining the Premier League club, and his latest performances for Sweden give him more confidence going back to club football.

At just 28, Gyökeres is already creating a special chapter in Nations League history. Now, after becoming the first player to score in six straight matches, the attention will turn to whether he can make that record even longer.
