American singer and actress Willow Smith, known professionally as WILLOW, celebrates her 26th birthday on October 31, 2026. Born on Halloween in 2000, she has grown from a child star into an artist known for exploring different sounds in music.
Willow Camille Reign Smith was born in Los Angeles, California, to Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. She first entered the entertainment industry as an actress, appearing alongside her father in the 2007 film I Am Legend. She later appeared in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and voiced a character in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
Her music career took off in 2010 when she released her debut single, “Whip My Hair”. The song became an international hit, reaching number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and number two in the United Kingdom. She also signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, becoming the youngest artist signed to the label at the time.
Over the years, Willow has continued to develop her sound. While she first gained attention through pop music, she later explored alternative rock, R&B, pop-punk, jazz and experimental music. Some of her popular songs include “Wait a Minute!”, “Transparent Soul” featuring Travis Barker and “Meet Me at Our Spot”, released with Tyler Cole as part of their duo, The Anxiety.
Her albums have also shown different sides of her musical journey. Projects such as Lately I Feel Everything (2021), Coping Mechanism (2022) and empathogen (2024) helped establish her interest in alternative and experimental sounds. Her 2024 album empathogen received two Grammy Award nominations in 2025.
In 2026, Willow continued releasing new music with two studio albums, petal rock black in February and The Thread in July. Both projects reflect her continued exploration of different musical styles.
Beyond music and acting, Willow co-hosted the talk show Red Table Talk with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The show ran from 2018 to 2023 and covered personal stories, family experiences and social topics.
As Willow turns 26, her journey reflects years of growth across music, film and television. From the success of “Whip My Hair” to her more experimental albums, she continues to build a career that goes beyond the image of the child star audiences first knew.
