Nigerian street-pop star Zlatan Ibile has returned with his first official solo single of 2026, “ITALAWA,” backed by a $10,000 social media challenge. Zlatan Ibile has released “ITALAWA,” a new solo song that brings the Nigerian artist back to his street-pop sound.
The song takes its name from a Yoruba street phrase that means “we are outside.” Zlatan uses the phrase to build a song about confidence, street life, money and enjoying life.
To help push the song on social media, Zlatan launched the #ITALAWAChallenge on TikTok, Instagram and other platforms. He announced a $10,000 cash prize pool for creative videos made by dancers, DJs, skit makers and other content creators.
The challenge has helped put the song at the center of social media activity, with fans and creators using the track for dance videos and other content.
Musically, “ITALAWA” mixes Amapiano sounds with Yoruba street-hop. The song was produced by Chech and PuffyBeatz, with fast drums and heavy rhythms supporting Zlatan’s energetic delivery.
The official visuals also follow the song’s high-energy style. The video features nightlife scenes, luxury cars, fashion and choreography, matching the song’s message of being outside and enjoying the moment.
“ITALAWA” is also notable because Zlatan delivers it as a solo record with no guest artist. In recent years, he has also gained attention through collaborations and major features, including his work with other Nigerian artists.
With “ITALAWA,” Zlatan puts his own voice back at the center while using a social media challenge to connect the song with a new wave of fans and creators.
The song is available on major music streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.
