Rapper 21 Savage is celebrating his 34th birthday on October 22, 2026, marking another year in a career that has taken him from London, England, to the top of the American hip-hop scene.

Born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph on October 22, 1992, 21 Savage grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, after moving from the United Kingdom as a child. His experiences growing up in Atlanta later became an important part of his music, helping shape the direct lyrics and distinctive style that attracted listeners.

The rapper began building his music career in 2013 before gaining wider attention with his 2015 mixtape The Slaughter Tape. His breakthrough came in 2016 with Savage Mode, a collaborative project with producer Metro Boomin. The project helped introduce him to a wider audience through songs such as “X,” featuring Future, and “No Heart.”

He continued to grow his career with projects including Issa Album, Without Warning with Metro Boomin and Offset, and I Am I Was. The latter became his first solo album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and included “A Lot,” featuring J. Cole. The song earned him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song in 2020.

His success continued through major collaborations, including “Rockstar” with Post Malone and the 2022 album Her Loss with Drake. In January 2024, he released American Dream, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He followed it with What Happened to the Streets?, released in December 2025, adding another chapter to his music career.

Ahead of his birthday this year, 21 Savage hosted his annual birthday celebration in Atlanta on October 17. The party followed a 1990s and 2000s R&B theme, with the rapper wearing an outfit inspired by Snoop Dogg. R&B group SWV and rapper G Herbo performed at the event, which also attracted several guests from the hip-hop scene.

Away from music, 21 Savage has also spoken about how his personal life has changed as he has grown older. The rapper is a father of four, including a daughter he welcomed with fellow rapper Latto in 2026.

During an appearance on The Pete Davidson Show in September, he explained that raising his youngest child has given him a different experience of fatherhood. He said he now spends more time at home caring for his daughter, including preparing bottles and changing diapers, compared with when his first three children were born.

Beyond his music and family life, 21 Savage has supported financial education for young people. In 2018, he launched the Bank Account Campaign, inspired by his hit song “Bank Account,” to help young people learn about saving, managing money and making informed financial decisions. The initiative has included partnerships with organisations working to provide educational and employment opportunities.

As he celebrates his 34th birthday, 21 Savage continues to balance his music career with family life and community work. From his early releases in Atlanta to Grammy-winning music and chart-topping albums, his journey remains a significant part of his story as an international hip-hop artist.
