Rwandan journalist Jado Castar is seeking peace between singer Bruce Melodie and a singer and media personality Yago Pon Dat as their dispute over online content threatens to escalate, with Yago’s YouTube channel facing possible removal.

Speaking on B&B Kigali FM on Friday, October 16, 2026, Jado said he wanted the two entertainers to resolve their differences. Jado, who owns B&B Kigali FM and has a friendship with both men, revealed that he had already spoken with Yago and was making efforts to help bring the two sides together.

Jado said his conversation with Yago lasted about two hours. He explained that they regularly talk as friends and discuss different issues privately, although he noted that not every detail of their conversations should be made public. He also suggested that more information about their discussion could emerge soon.

The dispute has drawn widespread attention after Yago said his YouTube channel, YAGO TV SHOW, received a third copyright strike following complaints connected to content featuring Bruce Melodie. On October 15, Yago said the channel had been given eight days before it could be removed from YouTube. He also announced that he would delete interviews featuring Bruce Melodie and other content about the singer.

However, Bruce Melodie has denied personally filing the complaint that put the channel at risk. On October 17, he said the issue involved a company that had acquired rights to his album Colorful Generation and was handling matters related to the use of its copyrighted music. Bruce said he was unhappy with some of Yago’s comments about him but did not want to deprive another person of their livelihood. This leaves an important distinction between Yago’s allegations about Bruce and Bruce’s own explanation of the copyright dispute.

During his discussion on B&B Kigali FM, Jado also raised concerns about the way some entertainers use social media. He said online disagreements can grow into serious problems when artists and content creators use their platforms to attack one another rather than find ways to settle their differences.

Jado said he had no personal complaint against Bruce Melodie and did not want to speak negatively about the singer. He did not reveal what he planned to discuss with Bruce when they eventually speak about the matter, but he expressed hope that a peaceful solution could be reached.

The journalist also questioned how the conflict had reached a point where Yago’s channel was at risk, noting the time and effort required to build an online platform. YAGO TV SHOW has around 872,000 subscribers, making it an established channel for interviews and entertainment discussions. Yago has also said the platform can generate significant income, although his reported monthly earnings have not been independently confirmed.

Jado said the disagreement was not beneficial to either entertainer, warning that a prolonged conflict could affect their public image, professional relationships and financial interests. He added that Yago had told him their problems went back to 2021 and suggested that discussion could still offer a path toward reconciliation.

The dispute has also renewed debate about the responsibilities that come with running online media platforms. Content creators rely on interviews, music and public discussions to attract audiences, but copyrighted material and content that damages another person’s reputation can lead to serious disputes.

Both men remain active in entertainment. Bruce Melodie recently released Irya 4, while Yago has continued releasing music and producing online content, including his song DIRTY with Original Kesh and Khuhani.

For Jado, the priority is to prevent the disagreement from causing further damage. His call for peace comes as the future of YAGO TV SHOW remains uncertain and the two sides have offered different explanations of the copyright dispute. Whether his efforts will bring Bruce Melodie and Yago Pon Dat to the same table remains to be seen.
