American singer Kesha has officially released the music video for “Backstabber,” more than 16 years after it was filmed. The video premiered on YouTube on October 26, 2026, bringing a long-awaited release to fans of the singer’s early music.
“Backstabber” is a song from Kesha’s debut album, Animal, released in 2010. The track became part of her early pop catalogue, but its music video did not receive an official release at the time.
The video was filmed in 2009 and later leaked online in 2011. Although an unofficial version circulated among fans, the official release took many more years to arrive.
Kesha announced the release on social media, sharing her excitement that the video was finally becoming available. She also said she had been trying to get it released for years but described the reason for the long wait as a “long story.”
The video brings viewers back to the early years of Kesha’s career, when songs such as “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Blah Blah Blah” helped establish her place in pop music.
With the official release of “Backstabber,” fans can now watch the video through Kesha’s official music channels rather than relying on older leaked versions.
The release also gives a new generation of listeners an opportunity to discover a song from the early years of her career.
