Kim Kardashian has been awarded €1 by a Paris court in a civil case linked to the armed robbery she suffered in 2016.
The court made the decision on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The €1 was the amount Kardashian had asked for, making the payment a symbolic award rather than a large financial compensation.
Kardashian and her friend and stylist Simone Harouche were both awarded €1. In a joint statement, they said the decision was about accountability and recognition, rather than the money.
The robbery happened in October 2016 while Kardashian was staying at a private hotel in Paris during Fashion Week. Armed men entered her room, tied her up and stole more than $6 million worth of jewelry. The stolen items included a diamond ring worth about $4 million. Most of the jewelry has never been recovered.
The case became known in France as the “Grandpa Robbers” case because several of the suspects were older men. In May 2025, eight people were found guilty of crimes linked to the robbery, while two others were acquitted.
The court also awarded €109,516 to a former hotel receptionist who was involved in the incident and €50,000 to the hotel.
Kardashian previously told the court that the robbery had a lasting impact on her and her family. After the latest decision, she and Harouche said they were thankful to the French justice system and hoped to move forward and continue healing.
