While Diamond Platnumz has returned home following the cancellation of his planned Australian concerts, Jamaican dancehall star Konshens has chosen to stay and announce performances in four cities for fans affected by the tour disruption.

The situation follows problems surrounding the Retro World Tour Australia, which had scheduled Diamond Platnumz to perform in Perth on October 10 and Melbourne on October 11, 2026.

In an official statement, Diamond’s management, Wasafi, said an ongoing dispute between the tour promoters over ticket-sale proceeds had made it impossible to deliver the two shows. The management alleged that one promoter collected ticket money but failed to account for it. These allegations have not been independently established.

Wasafi reported that 4,452 tickets had been sold, generating approximately US$559,445 in ticket revenue. The statement also said essential arrangements, including the venues, stage, sound equipment, transport and accommodation, were no longer secured. Diamond had travelled to Perth on October 8, but management said he had to return home after efforts to resolve the dispute failed.

Konshens, however, has taken a different approach to the disruption. In a heartfelt Instagram message, the Jamaican artist said he had fulfilled his contractual obligations and had no financial reason to remain in Australia. He explained that he chose to stay because he did not want to disappoint fans who had waited years to see him perform.

“I’m still here because it is no secret that I have a deep love affair with my fans, particularly my African fans and even more so my East African fans,” Konshens wrote.

He also acknowledged the frustration of people who had travelled between cities or changed their plans to attend the concerts. He said his aim was to make the experience worthwhile for as many fans as possible.

Konshens has now announced the following Australia tour dates:

October 15 — Brisbane

October 16 — Sydney

October 17 — Perth

October 18 — Melbourne

He ended his message with a promise to reach every city, writing: “I am not leaving til I touch every city with Dancehall Love.”

The two artists now face different outcomes from the disruption: Diamond’s planned Perth and Melbourne performances were cancelled, while Konshens says he intends to continue meeting fans through his revised schedule.

For fans who bought tickets or made travel arrangements, the situation remains frustrating. They should check with the official organisers and ticket providers for information about refunds, replacement tickets and the revised concert arrangements.

Despite the setback, Konshens’ message makes his position clear: he wants to stay in Australia and give his fans another chance to experience his music.
