Netflix has introduced AI Discover, a new feature designed to help subscribers find movies and TV shows based on their mood, interests and viewing preferences.

Announced on November 3, 2026, the feature is being tested through a new Discover tab on the Netflix TV app. It gives viewers another way to explore the platform's library without spending too much time scrolling through titles.

AI Discover works through different themes that guide users towards content they may enjoy. Examples include “Something Light” for viewers looking for something easy to watch, “Scare Me” for horror fans, “Family Movie Night” for group viewing and “Quick Watches” for people with limited time.

After choosing a theme, users receive a selection of matching movies and shows. They can explore more specific recommendations or select “Something Different” to get another set of suggestions.

Netflix has also added a “Tune Your Recommendations” option beside the usual “Play” and “My List” buttons. This allows viewers to keep recommendations they like or tell Netflix not to suggest certain titles again. The feature uses their feedback to adjust recommendations within AI Discover.

Unlike a chatbot, the first version does not allow viewers to type questions and receive conversational answers. Instead, it uses AI to create themes and guide users through a selection of titles.

Netflix describes AI Discover as a testing space where it can experiment with new ways of helping people find content. The company says feedback from users will help it decide which ideas to improve or introduce into the main Netflix experience.

For now, AI Discover is rolling out to a limited number of subscribers in the United States who use Netflix in English on supported televisions. Eligible users will see a Discover tab marked with a red gem icon and a “New” label in the top navigation menu.

Netflix plans to make the feature available to more users over the coming weeks, although it has not announced a specific international release date.
