Shakira and Burna Boy have made music history as their “Dai Dai” music video becomes the first song released in 2026 to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.
The music video for “Dai Dai” crossed the 1 billion views mark just 105 days after its release on May 23, 2026, making it the first 2026 music video to reach the milestone.
The song brings together Colombian superstar Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, combining Latin pop and Afrobeats sounds. It was also released as the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The video, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, features big performances and appearances from football stars including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
The milestone is a major career moment for both artists. “Dai Dai” becomes Shakira’s 10th music video to reach 1 billion YouTube views, while it is Burna Boy’s first video to reach the milestone.
The song has also performed strongly on other music platforms, adding to its global success and showing the reach of the Shakira and Burna Boy collaboration.
