Tupac was shot in a drive-by attack in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He died six days later at the age of 25. For three decades, his murder remained one of the biggest unsolved cases in hip-hop.
That changed on August 31, 2026, when a Las Vegas jury found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon. The jury reached its decision after about three hours of discussion.
Davis was the only person ever charged in Tupac’s murder. Prosecutors said he helped plan the attack but was not the person who fired the deadly shots. They said Davis was in the car during the shooting and helped organize the attack.
