Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, has been found not guilty in his federal murder-for-hire case in Los Angeles.
A federal jury reached the decision on Friday, September 11, 2026. The case accused Lil Durk of being involved in a 2022 shooting that targeted rapper Quando Rondo.
The case started after a shooting in Los Angeles in August 2022. Quando Rondo survived the attack, but his cousin, Saviay'a “Lul Pab” Robinson, was killed.
Prosecutors said the shooting was connected to the killing of rapper King Von in 2020. King Von was a close friend and collaborator of Lil Durk.
According to prosecutors, Lil Durk later helped arrange an attack on Quando Rondo as revenge for King Von's death. They said people connected to the plan traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles and followed Rondo before the shooting.
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that they said linked Lil Durk to the plan. One person accused of taking part in the shooting also testified against him.
Lil Durk's lawyers denied that he planned or ordered the attack. They argued that he was not involved in the shooting.
After hearing the case, the jury found Lil Durk not guilty of the murder-for-hire charges.
Two other men, Deandre Dontrell Wilson and David Brian Lindsey, were also facing charges in the case. They were found not guilty of the main murder-for-hire charges but were convicted on other stalking-related charges.
The verdict means Lil Durk has avoided a possible life sentence in this case.
However, the rapper is not free yet. He remains in federal custody because he is facing a separate federal case involving racketeering and firearms charges. That case is expected to go to trial in October 2026.
The family of Saviay'a Robinson has also said it plans to continue with a wrongful-death civil case.
Lil Durk's not-guilty verdict is a major win for the rapper after a long legal fight. But his separate federal case means his legal problems are not over yet.
