Tanzanian singer Malaika Gray has released her debut single, “My Fever,” featuring Bongo Flava star Marioo. The song arrived on October 30, 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her professional music career.

Released through Africori, a music company under Warner Music Group, the track brings together two Tanzanian artists for a love song about the strong feelings that come with falling for someone.

“My Fever” blends Afrobeats and Bongo Flava with R&B and pop influences. Malaika and Marioo co-wrote the song, while Tanzanian producer Abbah Process handled the production.

The accompanying music video was filmed in Dar es Salaam and directed by Joma. It features both artists and brings the song's romantic theme to life through scenes from the city.

The video also captures parts of everyday life in Dar es Salaam, including the Indian Ocean, markets, public transport and busy streets. This gives the release a strong connection to the city where the song was created.

For Malaika, the release is an important step in her plans to take Tanzanian music to a wider audience. Raised between Tanzania and South Africa, she is currently studying Vocal Performance and Music Business at Berklee College of Music in Boston, United States.

Her partnership with Africori gives her a platform to develop her music career, while starting with a collaboration featuring Marioo, one of the recognised names in Bongo Flava.

Malaika has said she wants to bring Tanzanian sounds, culture and Swahili into her music while reaching listeners beyond the country.

With “My Fever,” she introduces her sound to a wider audience and begins her journey as a professional recording artist. The release also brings together her musical direction and Marioo's experience in the Tanzanian music scene.
