Michael Jackson's legendary song "Thriller" has reached No. 1 on Spotify's Global Chart for the first time, earning more than 6.6 million streams on October 31, 2026.
The 1982 classic also reportedly reached No. 1 on four major US music charts following Halloween celebrations.
According to music chart updates, "Thriller" claimed the top position on Spotify's US chart, Apple Music's US chart, Amazon Music's US chart and the US iTunes chart.
On Spotify, the song recorded 6,606,221 streams in one day, making it the most-streamed song worldwide on October 31.
The achievement came during Halloween celebrations, when listeners returned to the song because of its spooky sound and iconic music video.
Michael Jackson fans also took part in the 2026 ThrillerChallenge, a campaign encouraging people around the world to stream and purchase the song during the Halloween period.
Despite its popularity, "Thriller" never reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 during its original chart run. It peaked at No. 4 in 1984.
More than four decades after its release, the song continues to attract listeners across generations. Its latest chart performance is another reminder of Michael Jackson's lasting influence on popular music.
