Nia Long has received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honoring her long career in film and television.
The ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Hollywood, California. Long received the 2,857th star in the Motion Pictures category.
During the ceremony, Long spoke about her family and the people who supported her throughout her career. She dedicated different parts of her star to important people in her life, including her mother Talita Long, her two sons Massai and Kez, and loved ones who have passed away.
Long also remembered filmmaker John Singleton, who was an important part of her career.
Her mother was a major part of the moment. Long shared that her mother once drove a bus along the same area where her daughter would later have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Snoop Dogg was one of the special guests at the ceremony and spoke in honor of Long. Other stars who attended included Terrence Howard, Bill Bellamy, and Larenz Tate, who worked with Long on some of her well-known films.
Long's career includes films such as “Boyz n the Hood,” “Love Jones,” and “The Best Man.” She has also appeared in many television shows and movies during her career.
The Walk of Fame honor comes after another important role for Long. She played Katherine Jackson in the Michael Jackson biopic “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua.
Long continues to work in film and television. She is also set to star in and executive produce the Netflix romantic drama “Don’t Ever Wonder” alongside Larenz Tate.
The new star on Hollywood Boulevard now marks another major moment in Nia Long’s career, celebrating her work on screen over several decades.
