Colombian singer Shakira has arrived in Madrid, Spain, ahead of her 12-show residency, which is expected to welcome around 600,000 fans between September 18 and October 11, 2026.
Shakira landed at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport on September 14, just four days before she begins her highly anticipated run of concerts in the Spanish capital.
Her arrival received a special welcome inspired by her Colombian roots. Traditional musicians and dancers from the Carnaval de Barranquilla performed at the airport, surprising the singer with drums, dancing and a festive celebration.
Shakira smiled as she met the performers and joined the celebration before leaving the airport. The welcome highlighted the Colombian culture that has remained an important part of her identity throughout her career.
Speaking about the idea behind her Madrid residency, Shakira said she wanted to create a place where people could connect with each other through Latin culture.
The concerts will be held at a temporary venue known as Estadio Shakira, built within the Iberdrola Music space in Madrid. The residency will run from September 18 to October 11, with 12 concert dates planned during the period.
Organizers expect around 600,000 people to attend the shows, making the Madrid residency one of the biggest parts of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
The event will offer more than the main concerts. As part of the “Es Latina” cultural project, fans will also have access to Macondo Park, a large cultural space connected to the concert venue.
Macondo Park will feature eight pavilions focused on different parts of Latin American culture, including music, art, fashion, film, literature and food. The space will open from noon for fans with concert tickets.
The program will also include performances from other artists. Nathy Peluso, Amaia and Guitarricadelafuente are among the artists connected to the event, adding more music to the days around Shakira’s main performances.
After the concerts, the celebration will continue with late-night programming at Macondo Plaza, giving fans another chance to enjoy music and Latin American culture.
The Madrid residency is part of the European leg of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which began in 2025 following the release of her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
With Shakira now in Madrid, preparations are entering their final stage. Her first concert is scheduled for September 18, beginning a 12-show run that will bring hundreds of thousands of fans to the Spanish capital.
