Netflix’s hit crime series opened its second season at No. 3 on the global Top 10 list, with 6.7 million views in its first week.

The Gentlemen is back on Netflix, but Season 2 has started with fewer viewers than the first season.

Netflix’s official Top 10 data shows that Season 2 recorded 6.7 million views and 49.8 million hours watched between August 31 and September 6. It ranked No. 3 on Netflix’s global English TV list.

That is a big drop from Season 1. When the first season launched in March 2024, it opened at No. 1 with 12.2 million views. Based on the two opening-week figures, Season 2 is down by about 45%.

Still, the new season remains a strong performer. Season 1 also returned to Netflix’s Top 10 this week, taking No. 5 with 3.2 million views, showing that viewers are still interested in Eddie Horniman’s criminal empire.

Season 2 also brings a new face to the series. Maya Jama makes her scripted acting debut as Aisha, joining returning stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario. Netflix says the new season follows Eddie and Susie as they expand their criminal business and face new threats.

Despite the lower opening numbers, the future of The Gentlemen is already secure. Netflix confirmed Season 3 before Season 2 was released, with creator Guy Ritchie set to continue the story.

The show has also attracted attention because of rumors that Meghan Markle could join Season 3. Theo James recently dismissed the reports as “a lot of hot air,” while Netflix has not announced Markle as part of the cast.

The Gentlemen Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, with all eight episodes available to watch.
