Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain delivered big wins on Wednesday, while Arsenal secured one of the night’s biggest results with a 1–0 victory over Napoli.
The UEFA Champions League continued on Wednesday, September 9, with six more Matchday 1 games across Europe.
Barcelona made a strong start by beating Feyenoord 5–1. Lamine Yamal was among the key players for Barcelona, while Raphinha scored twice as the Spanish side put on a dominant display.
Paris Saint-Germain also impressed, beating Slovan Bratislava 6–1. The result gave the defending champions a perfect start to their Champions League campaign.
VfB Stuttgart defeated Viking 3–1, with Ermedin Demirović scoring a first-half hat-trick. Sporting CP also picked up a 3–1 win over Galatasaray.
Liverpool had to work harder for their three points, beating Atlético Madrid 2–1 at Anfield in a closely fought match.
The biggest away result came in Italy, where Arsenal beat Napoli 1–0. Martin Ødegaard scored in the second half to give Mikel Arteta’s team a valuable three points away from home.
