South African producer DJ Maphorisa and British-South African singer Daecolm have teamed up for their new single, “Imvula,” bringing together African dance music and soulful R&B influences.
Known for his major role in the growth of Amapiano, DJ Maphorisa takes a different direction on “Imvula,” leaning into a deep and rhythmic Afro House sound.
Daecolm adds smooth vocals to the track, creating a blend of African dance rhythms and his R&B-inspired style.
The collaboration had already generated attention before its release, with Daecolm sharing previews from the studio and giving fans an early look at the song.
South African music icon Oskido has also shown support for the collaboration, while “Imvula” has received early exposure through Soweto TV’s Just Music show.
The song has also landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday South Africa playlist, giving the collaboration an early boost among listeners.
“Imvula” marks another international collaboration for both artists as they continue to connect different sounds and audiences through African music.
The new single is now available to stream on major music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
