Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka and Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage have released their new collaboration, “Commando”, accompanied by an official visualiser filmed in Lagos, Nigeria.
The song brings together two artists from different parts of Africa, connecting Uganda's growing music scene with Nigeria's influential Afrobeats industry.
“Commando” was released on October 29, 2026, after attracting attention through previews shared online earlier in the month. Baraka had initially planned to release the song in November as part of his upcoming project, Recess II. However, after receiving a strong response to the snippet, he announced that he would make the track available earlier than planned.
Tiwa Savage also showed her excitement about the collaboration during the promotional period, publicly thanking Baraka for having her on the song.
The release comes with a visualiser created by Deeds Studio. The production was filmed in Lagos, bringing a Nigerian setting to the visuals accompanying the Uganda-Nigeria musical link-up.
The collaboration adds another international name to Joshua Baraka's growing catalogue. The Ugandan singer has gained recognition through songs such as “Nana” and “Wrong Places”, while Tiwa Savage has built an international career with popular releases including “Koroba”, “Somebody's Son” featuring Brandy and “All Over”.
With “Commando” now available, listeners can hear the two artists together ahead of the expected arrival of Baraka's Recess II project.
