Jhené Aiko is giving fans another way to connect with “Break,” an emotional track from her latest album, Westside Whimsy.

Known for her soft vocals and personal songwriting, the American R&B singer explores feelings of heartbreak and emotional struggle in the song. Its lyrics reflect the pain of a relationship and the difficulty of dealing with feelings that are hard to escape. Apple Music also highlights heartbreak as a central theme in the track.

“Break” appears on Westside Whimsy, Aiko’s fourth studio album, released on September 11, 2026, through ALLEL, Artclub and Def Jam Recordings. The 20-track project marks her first full-length album since Chilombo in 2020 and features collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Larry June, Ab-Soul, Tyga and OHMA.

The song is part of an album that draws on Aiko’s Los Angeles roots while exploring personal feelings and experiences through her music. With its reflective mood and soulful sound, “Break” fits the singer’s familiar approach to making music that connects with listeners on an emotional level.

The release also comes as Aiko continues to expand the album’s visual world. She has shared videos for other songs from Westside Whimsy, including “Ghost” and “Nothing Nice to Say,” giving fans more ways to experience the project beyond streaming the music.
